The EDGE Conference is excited to announce that Shaun Groves will be guest blogging as we lead up to this winter’s event. If you aren’t familiar with Shaun, here is a quick excerpt from his bio:

Shaun Groves is a communicator who’s known by a lot of titles: Singer/songwriter. Speaker. Blogger. Husband. Daddy. Friend. He feels and thinks deeply and laughs easily. And he’s helping Christians discover what they were saved for, and being a voice for children around the world, desperate to be saved from poverty.

The EDGE Conference 2011-2012

In case you missed it we had a blast at this winter’s EDGE Conferences at Caswell and Pigeon Forge! A HUGE thanks goes out to everyone who played a part behind-the-scenes to make everything run smoothly. For those who attended, we hope that your group had an incredible, God-centered experience. We are continually amazed by the ways God chooses to bless this conference and we are honored to be a part of his work in the lives of your students and leaders.

Also, we are so thankful to have had the opportunity to minister alongside such great people as Mike Keahbone, Harris III, David Josiah, Dave Edwards, Ben Glenn, and Micah Watson. Thank you for allowing God to work through you to affect the lives of students and youth leaders at this year’s events.

We are happy to report that our Mission:Grand (work project) experiment was a success at Pigeon Forge. Thanks to the hard work of our volunteer students and leaders we finished all of our primary and secondary work projects at The Grand in almost half the allotted time! Because of your hard work and sacrificial spirit we have not only helped transform the physical property of The Grand but also the hearts of many of the staff that our ministry works with each year. Thank you for representing Christ well in this project.

This winter was the last winter conference at our Caswell location. While we always enjoy the staff and facilities at Caswell we have finally reached a point where we feel it would be better for us to focus on putting together a single winter worship experience each year at Pigeon Forge. We are grateful for each of you who have joined us at Caswell in the past and hope that you will consider making the move to Pigeon Forge.

We are already looking forward to putting together a great event next winter. We are still working out the programming, activities, costs, and other details for next winter’s conference so please keep an eye out for information about next winter’s event on the EDGE website.

RISE CD: Now Available Online

After receiving such great compliments at The EDGE and several requests since then to order our new CD we have finally opened up a web store featuring The Jonathan Project’s latest worship album “RISE.”

The EDGE at Pigeon Forge 2010-2011

Last weekend around 900 students and youth workers joined us in Pigeon Forge for The EDGE Conference — a time of worship, discipleship, and celebration designed to point middle school and high school students toward a loving relationship with Christ. This year our band (The Jonathan Project) led worship music, Craig Tackett and Shaun Groves each shared the Word of God, Taylor Mason (with Romeo, Paco and Pacito) made everyone laugh, and Drew Worsham amazed us all with illusions.

In remembrance of the Haiti earthquake that happened one year ago we took up an offering at each of this year’s EDGE conferences to be donated to Compassion International’s Haiti Relief Fund. I am overjoyed to say that between the two conferences our students and youth leaders gave almost $10,000! They also sponsored at least 14 children who’s lives are now forever changed because of these sacrificial commitments. Thank you all for giving!

The EDGE at Caswell 2010-2011

We just wrapped up The EDGE Conference at Fort Caswell this year and it was a blast! About 500 students and youth workers came to grow closer in their walk with God alongside Brandon Barnard, Ben Glenn, Drew Worsham, Craig Tackett & The Jonathan Project. Here are a few pictures from the conference. We will upload more as soon as we can.

Worship with JP was incredible. This weekend was also the CD release weekend for their new live worship album “RISE” (available online soon).

God definitely spoke through Ben, Drew, Brandon, and Craig this weekend to challenge his children to live lives fully devoted to Him.

We rang in the new year together with music, illusions, games, and party poppers… and apparently some people brought hats.

SHOUT! Revival at Briarwood Baptist Church

We LOVE going to Athens, GA, and this event was no exception. It was truly amazing to return to the Athens/Watkinsville area and be a part of the newly named “SHOUT!” revival hosted at Briarwood Baptist Church. Great crowds, great worship, and great people made for a great week! (Also, if you’re in Athens check out TWO STORY coffee house!)

Stanford / Lincoln County Area D-Now

It was great to be back in Stanford, KY, with Jason Kilby and all the folks at in the Stanford region. Every year the crowd seems to grow and the community seems to respond. It is always a blessing to be a part of it all and we are already looking forward to the next time we get to worship in Stanford!

Live CD Recording Recap

First of all, thanks to everyone who came out to help us with our live CD recording last week! We didn’t take any official counts but I am pretty sure we had more than a couple of hundred worshipers each night and you all sounded GREAT!

Right now the tracks from night #1 are in the mixing engineer’s hand and the tracks from night #2 are on their way. I will keep you posted on the album’s progress as we move forward but for now please enjoy these pics from the recordings.

If you were there, please leave a comment on this post to tell us your favorite song from the evening… we are trying to finalize the lineup for the album & we may not end up using every song from the live worship time.
